Godfrey of Saint-Omer
The knight, Godfrey of Saint-Omer, who inspired our character, was the son of William Ist, Lord of Saint-Omer.
Seal of the Knights Templar
In 1096, he joined the First Crusade alongside Godfrey of Bouillon. He then returned to Saint-Omer. Around 1128-29, together with Hugues de Payns he founded the Knights Templar, whose mission was to protect pilgrims.
